Walking in Carinthia - from 400 m up to 3,798 m above sea level

The Alpe-Adria-Trail links the three regions of Carinthia, Slovenia and Friaul Julisch Venetia together in a total of 38 hiking stages.

The long-distance hiking trail takes you through the beginning of the highest mountain in Austria, the Großglockner, and continues its route through the most beautiful mountain and lake-regions of Carinthia. From here the journey can be continued to the intersection of the three countries Austria, Italy and Slovenia and you can hike up to Triest, which is located by the Adria.

93 of the mountain tops are more than 3.000 meters high. Especially the Großglockner, with 3.798 meters is the highest mountain of Austria.

Additionally there are beautiful landscapes, which are a little easier to hike, which are waiting to be discovered by you.

Of course all these experiences bring along a great amount of culinary spoiling:

The theme trails along the Lake Wörth and the cultural, spring and vine paths in the Lavanttal help you hike the steeper ways. In the National Park Nockberge you can find the almost forgotten medicinal plant, the celtic spikenard. Alongside several hiking paths along St. Oswald you can enjoy the scent of this plant and enjoy some warm footbaths with the oil from this plant, in a romantic hut after your journey.
